Join the Friends of Heritage Square for an orientation open house to introduce you to the rich heritage of our area. You will learn about the volunteer
We need your help with giving tours of Heritage Square, troche School tours, Special tours, Exhibit planning and set up, helping & planning Special Events, office assistance, publicity efforts, recording oral histories and maintaining collections and archives. Also are opportunities to keep our grounds beautiful by donating time in our beautiful Heritage Rose Garden.
Training Orientation consists of two sessions:
Sat March 21st 10-11 am
Tues March 24th 6:30-7:30 pm
Fees: Free, with refreshments included
If you choose to become a docent, the training materials are $20 and membership is $15 for an individual. If you choose to be a volunteer, the cost is just membership to the Friends of Heritage Square.
Location: 731 South A Street, Oxnard, CA 93030
The training program will include guest speakers, lectures, slide shows, field trips and hands on tour guide techniques. Volunteers will have an opportunity to learn about Oxnard’s history and architecture, work with the public and develop educational programs for the community.
Heritage Square features a collection of 1876-1912 houses, a church and winery replica in a picturesque Victorian garden setting. Guided tours are offered on Saturdays 10-4pm and Sundays 1-4pm and by appointment to groups and schools. Special events such as concerts, weddings and holiday events are scheduled throughout the year.
