Please join us for an hour of discussion and learning about shorebird conservation efforts in Ventura County. Dr. Don Rodriguez, Chair of CSUCI’s Environmental Science and Resource Management Program, will share his work monitoring shorebirds on Ventura County beaches to create a baseline for long term study. Biologist Cynthia Hartley, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service permitted nest monitor, will be joining us from the Ventura Audubon Shorebird Recovery Program to focus on the federally threatened Western Snowy Plover on Ormond Beach. Learn about climate change, human impacts on shorebirds, shorebird monitoring, nesting, and conservation of the Western Snowy Plover.
