The Simi Valley Police Department Traffic Bureau will be hosting a Senior Driver’s Education Class. This class is a cooperative effort between the Simi Valley Police Department, the California Department of Motor Vehicles, the California Office of Traffic Safety and our senior drivers.

The class will take place on March 22, 2018 at 5:30 P.M. and will last until approximately 7:00 P.M. at the Simi Valley Police Department, located at 3901 Alamo Street, Simi Valley CA 93063.

In an effort to remain proactive and not reactive, the Senior Driver’s Education Class is designed to help senior drivers understand how age related issues could affect a person’s ability to drive safely. The class will offer lecture on the following topics: Issues specific to senior drivers; advice on how to be a safer driver; community resources available to seniors; information for care givers; alternate forms of transportation and information specific to DMV rules and regu lations not commonly known regarding disabled placards. Our goal is to raise awareness and reduce the number of senior-related injuries and deaths due to traffic collisions.
