Soroptimist International of Oxnard [SIO] will meet Wednesday, January 18th  at 7:30am at the Courtyard Marriott (600 Esplanade Drive, Oxnard) for their monthly program meeting.

Professional storyteller Robert Seutter, aka True Thomas the Storyteller, will speak on “The Power of Storytelling”, tips and ideas from a traditional storyteller. One of SIO’s areas of focus is in helping women become successful leaders. How we speak about what matters to us -whether it’s for business or personal- determines the impact we make as leaders and True Thomas will give us tips for using storytelling in our speaking.

True is an avid proponent of storytelling. He teaches the art, creates events, and has performed in a wide variety of places from campfires to battlefields. His personal storytelling philosophy is that a good storyteller should be able to tell to anyone, anywhere it’s physically possible. Anyone can and should tell stories, and to become a master of the craft can take a lifetime. He’s also a big believer in the spiritual side of storytelling. He believes in the power of stories and that the right story, in the right time and place can change the world.
