    Soroptimist Oxnard March Speaker on Human Trafficking

    SoroptimistSoroptimist International of Oxnard [SIO] will meet Wednesday, March 15th  at 7:30am at the Courtyard Marriott (600 Esplanade Drive, Oxnard) for their monthly program meeting.

    Ventura County District Attorney Investigator Mike Munn , will speak on Human Trafficking in Our Community. Mike is also participating on the panel of speakers at the March 8th Human Trafficking Education and Awareness event hosted by Soroptimist of Oxnard and other local Soroptimist clubs, and held at St. Paul’s Episcopal church in Ventura beginning at 6:30pm.

    Mike Munn began a career in law enforcement with the Buena Park Police Department in 1987, and worked a number of assignments. In April of 1998, he became a DA Investigator for the Orange County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigation. November 2015,  Mr. Munn was hired by the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office as a DA Investigator II. He is currently assigned to Human Trafficking and was tasked to form the Ventura County Human Trafficking Enforcement Team, which includes members of local police agencies in Ventura County, along with the FBI and Amtrak police.

    Founded in 1921, Soroptimist is an international volunteer organization for business and professional women working to improve the lives of women and girls.  Chartered in 1945, Soroptimist of Oxnard provides volunteer and philanthropic service to the community of Oxnard, Ventura County, and worldwide.
