Camarillo, Calif.Studio Channel Islands Art Center (SCIART) is seeking the help of individuals and businesses to donate items for auction for its upcoming 7th Annual Art à la Mode  Gala, scheduled for 5:30 p.m., Sept. 7, at the Saticoy Country Club, 4450 Clubhouse Dr, Somis. This year’s event honors Dr. Joseph (Joe) Halcomb III and his wife Joani Halcomb as the recipients of the 2019 Medici Award, SCIART’s highest recognition. The Art à la Mode Gala is SCIART’s largest fundraising event, with all proceeds going to support SCIART’s many educational programs, exhibitions and community events.

“The Art à la Mode Gala this year will honor two wonderful supporters, Joe and Joani Halcomb, for their support of the arts, artists and the artistic community, and their selfless service to SCIART’s mission to bring together artists and community for extraordinary artistic encounters,” said Peter Tyas, SCIART executive director. “We invite businesses, individuals, SCIART members and community members to help us continue to provide programs and events that enrich, educate and entertain, and honor the Halcombs through donations that support the arts in our community.”

SCIART seeks community support through donations of items for auction at the event such as trips, tours, wine, gift baskets, furniture, restaurant vouchers, jewelry, timeshares, home improvement items and gift certificates. Those who are unable to donate an item can make a tax-deductible donation in cash to support an event or an entire program. Event sponsorship opportunities are also available. All donors receive a tax deduction for the market value of the item donated and will be recognized by name (unless they choose anonymity) in the auction program. For more information or to submit an auction item or donation, contact Peter Tyas at [email protected] or call 805-383-1368.
