The Thousand Oaks Police Charitable Foundation will celebrate its 20th Annual TOPCF Golf Tournament, October 17 at North Ranch Country Club, 4761 Valley Spring Drive, Westlake Village, 91362.

The Tournament, presented by title sponsor Pleasant Holidays, has raised more than

$400,000 since its inception to provide operational support for the Thousand Oaks Police Department’s in volunteer, youth and family programs. All proceeds go to the Thousand Oaks Police Charitable Foundation to specifically support programs including: Volunteers in Policing, Law Enforcement Explorers, Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART), Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES), programs in partnership with our local schools such as STAND PROUD and Safe Passage of the Conejo, Women’s Empowerment Forum in partnership with California Lutheran University, Citizen’s Academy and Reserve Deputies. Visit www.supporttopcf.org for details.

Every year, this Tournament has grown in size and scope, but most important, the funds raised by all have contributed to keeping Thousand Oaks one of the safest places to live, work, and play. Most recently, $10,000 was earmarked to help fund the Safe Passage of the Conejo, a program specifically targeting at-risk youth as a gang prevention strategy. Chief of Police, Tim Hagel says, “It is programs like this that keep Thousand Oaks on the leading edge of community engagement and crime prevention strategies.”

This year’s Tournament highlights include an interactive exhibition with 12 time world long drive finalist Jeff Farley, putting contest, helicopter ball drop, and both Live and Silent Auctions featuring more than $100,000 in travel prizes. Additional auction items include “Shoot out with the Sheriff” and Cisco’s Mexican Restaurants Chef Dinner for 10 guests.

The TOPCF assists the Police Department as it manages its public safety programs, its efforts toward enhancing the quality of life within the community, its support and recognition of volunteers and its mission to deter crime. All of this has contributed to Thousand Oaks being recognized as the second safest city in the nation.
