The November 2016 election introduced us to cyberattacks on our voting systems, using “bots” and “fake news,” hurting our ability to discuss difficult issues, civilly. Are we powerless to deal with these disruptions?

Our guest speakers:
Dr. José Marichal, Professor of Political Science, California Lutheran University, author of Facebook Democracy, specializes in the role that social media plays in restructuring political behavior and institutions as well as the role of diversity and multiculturalism in civic life.
Dr. Tim Allison, JD, Adjunct Professor of Political Science, California State University, Channel Islands, specializes in Constitutional law, civil rights, voting rights in our society.
