From Rancho Guadalasca to Camarillo State Hospital to California State University, Channel Islands”

at the Port Hueneme Historical Society Museum 220 Market Street

    on January 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM.

Dr. Colleen Delaney is a Professor of Anthropology at California State University Channel Islands.

As a broadly trained anthropologist, her research interests are diverse and interdisciplinary, yet she is particularly interested in human adaptation to the local, natural, and cultural realms.

What better place for her to study—although her academic research is largely on the Channel Islands—than the present site of CSUCI, which has served as a working rancho, a mental hospital, and now, a university campus?

Dr. Delaney, who earned degrees from Beloit College and UCLA, has conducted fieldwork throughout the United States as well as Germany and Australia.
