Camarillo’s Independence Day celebration will take place on Wednesday, July 4, at Camarillo High School, from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The campus is located at 4660 Mission Oaks Blvd. This year’s event will feature live music by Ignition (classic rock) and the Camarillo Community Band, as well as fun activities for the kids, and food/drinks. The evening will conclude with a 25-minute, multi-level fireworks display that starts at 9 p.m.
July 4th tickets are available now, through July 3, at City Hall (601 Carmen Drive) and the Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District office (1605 E. Burnley Street). Both offices are open Monday – Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $2 per person, and children five years old and under are free. On July 4, tickets can be purchased at the high school (cash only). Gates will open at 4 p.m.
Free parking and shuttles will be available at the Metrolink Station (Dawson Drive side), and the parking lot behind Technicolor, at 3233 Mission Oaks Blvd. For those who enter the Metrolink Station via Lewis Road, please use the pedestrian railroad overpass to access the shuttles. Shuttles will run every 15-minutes, from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. The fastest way to the fireworks is also the easiest!
Guests may bring picnic baskets and coolers into the high school stadium. Lawn seating will be available on the football field, and seating will also be available in both the home and visitor’s bleachers. The July 4th celebration is a smoke-free event; additionally, no alcohol, marijuana, pets, or personal fireworks will be allowed. Please note that all coolers will be inspected for alcoholic beverages.
Throughout the day, the Pleasant Valley Lions Club will be offering food and drinks for sale. Proceeds will benefit Lions Club programs in the community.
