Trees in Watercolors

Trees are a gorgeous part of our landscape, and we are surrounded by quite a variety! In this class we will examine the differences in trunks, branches, and leaves, the importance of a light source, and the use of unique brushes for creating specific patterns. We’ll also explore vibrant greens, from light to dark! I will bring several photos to work from as well as some paintings as examples.

Patty Van Dyke is a California watercolorist. She loves the fluidity and transparency of this challenging medium. Through plain air painting she shares the beauty she is surrounded by in her rural community.

She artist has drawn and painted all her life, with watercolor as her preferred medium. She continues to paint watercolors, but is exploring collage and mixed media as well. Van Dyke also has taught watercolor classes for Elderhostel, Casa de Maria, Gables of Ojai, and private students. Van Dyke loves to paint the paradise we live in and the people she loves.
