Ventura County Board of Supervisors
THOUSAND OAKS, CA (January 14, 2020) – On January 21, 2020 at 6:00 pm, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors will hold a special evening meeting in the Thousand Oaks City Council Chambers at the Civic Arts Plaza/Scherr Forum, 2100 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd. This special public meeting provides a convenient opportunity for residents in the East County to attend the Supervisors meeting. The meeting will highlight Supervisorial District 2 that includes the City of Thousand Oaks and surrounding unincorporated communities. Thousand Oaks Police Chief Tim Hagel will offer the Moment of Inspiration and receive a resolution honoring his dedicated service to the residents of Thousand Oaks upon his retirement.
The Board of Supervisors agenda will include Ventura County’s After-Action Report on the Woolsey Fire and recommendations from the Mental Health and Safety Task Force established in response to the Borderline Bar and Grill mass shooting. The Board will also consider the feasibility of establishing a Portable Power Loan Program for vulnerable residents during power shutoffs and local emergencies. Also, members of local Municipal Advisory Councils that represent the unincorporated areas of Oak Park, Casa Conejo, Somis and Santa Rosa Valley will report on activities and accomplishments in their communities. The Board will also recognize the accomplishments of District 2 residents, including Shannon Savage-Howie, organizer of the Thousand Oaks Remembers storytelling project, and the Newbury Park High School Boys and Girls Cross Country Team for their CIF-Southern Section and CIF State Championships.
