Oxnard, California – Longtime local promoter Chuck Dennis has teamed up with the Oxnard Performing Arts Center (PACC) to present “A Night of Funk,” with legendary artists Michel’le, Dazz Band, Lakeside, Tom Browne, and Club Nouveau on Saturday, April 14.
The night will include some of the most iconic songs of this genre, including Lakeside’s “Fantastic Voyage” and trumpeter Tom Browne’s “Funkin’ for Jamaica (N.Y.)” and “Thighs High (Grip Your Hips and Move).” Singer, songwriter and reality TV star, Michel’le, will croon her Billboard Top 10 hits “No More Lies” and R&B chart topper “Something In My Heart.” Lastly, Club Nouveau will harken back to their 1986 debut album, Life, Love & Pain, which scored four consecutive hits: “Jealousy,” “Situation #9,” “Lean on Me,” and “Why You Treat Me So Bad“.
Hosted by DJ Jimmy Reyes, this evening of Soul, Funk, R&B, and Pop Music is sure to uniquely blend melody, harmony and rhythm into memorable performances. Full bar for guests 21 years and up. VIP seating includes a special “Meet and Greet” with select artists.
