YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day, celebrated at nearly 1,600 Ys across the country, aims to get more kids moving and learning, so they can keep up the habit all summer long – a critical out-of-school time for kids’ health. Last year more than 800 individuals participated. Come out and join us!  We will be updating new information each week.

LOCAL NFL ALUMNI GIVES BACK TO THE KIDS

The Ventura YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day has been growing steadily every year, but 2014 looks to be something extra-special as it will be teaming up with some former NFL players who have a lot in common with local kids, having once been local kids themselves. Freddy Keiaho, who played for the Indianapolis Colts and holds a Super Bowl ring for his 2009 performance in Super Bowl XLIV and played for the Jacksonville Jaguars; Kevin Thomas, who played with the Indianapolis Colts; Lorenzo Booker, who played with the Miami Dolphins, the Philadelphia Eagles, the Minnesota Vikings and, most recently, the Chicago Bears; Ronney Jenkins, who played with the San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and New Orleans Saints; and Terrail Lambert, who is currently with the Oakland Raiders, will all be appearing at the event for a free football clinic and, of course, an autograph session.
