THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. – Young Artists Ensemble holds auditions for BUSYTOWN, The musical, directed by Annie Block-Weiss at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 West Hillcrest Drive. Auditions are Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1 by appointment only. Time slots begin at 4:30 Friday afternoon and 6:30 Saturday evening and are held at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 West Hillcrest Drive. Actors are requested to prepare and memorize a one-minute monologue or poem and a one minute song with sheet music. No recorded music is allowed and an accompanist will be provided. Auditions will last one hour and 15 minutes and actors may be asked to do a cold reading from the script and some improvisation and dancing, and should wear comfortable clothes. Callbacks are Sunday, March 2 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. Performances are May 2 – 18, 2014, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Zachary Spencer will serve as Musical Director and Natalie Iscovich will choreography. Assistant Director is Kailey Short.
