Fatal Traffic Accident — Motorcycle Driver killed, Passenger injured

Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release

On January 29th at 5:29 PM, the Ventura Police Command Center received numerous 911 calls reporting an injury traffic collision involving a single motorcycle on the Victoria Ave. bridge north of Olivas Park Dr.  Arriving officers found several passing motorists attending to the driver of the motorcycle, a 51-year-old male, who was non-responsive from his injuries he suffered in the accident.  There was also an adult female passenger of the motorcycle being cared for by other motorists.  Ventura City Fire and medical personnel arrived on scene and began provided life saving measures to the male driver, although he was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The female passenger was also treated on scene by medical personnel and then transported to VCMC by AMR ambulance with moderate, but non-life threatening injuries.         

The Ventura Police Department Traffic Unit responded to the scene and is conducting the investigation.  Once further information has been obtained from the investigation, the Traffic Unit will send out an additional press release. 

While the investigation is being conducted, traffic on both north and southbound lanes of Victoria Ave. will be reduced to a single lane and will impact traffic in the area.  We request the public avoid this area.
