Fatal Traffic Collision Involving a Motorcyclist

On April 2, 2018, at approximately 12:36 p.m., officers from the Oxnard Police Department and EMS personnel responded to an injury traffic collision on Rose Avenue at the intersection of Mountain View Avenue. When officers arrived they located a motorcyclist in the roadway with fatal injuries.
Based on the preliminary investigation, officers determined that the motorcyclist had been traveling southbound on Rose Avenue approaching the intersection of Mountain View Avenue. A 2011 Ford F650 flatbed truck, driven by a 36-year-old Oxnard resident, was traveling northbound on Rose Avenue, making a left turn onto Mountain View Avenue. The motorcyclist collided with the truck and was ejected from the motorcycle.
It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were involved. The collision is still under investigation.
