    Firearms Oxnard

    On January 29, 2022, at approximately 12:40 a.m., a patrol officer observed a suspicious vehicle driving slowly with the headlights out in the Colonia neighborhood near the intersection of First Street and Marquita Street. A traffic stop was conducted and the Officer observed open alcoholic containers in the vehicle. The two occupants of the vehicle were detained. During a search of the vehicle, officers located two handguns. A loaded 9mm handgun was located under the driver’s seat and an unloaded .22 caliber revolver was found in the center console. Officers arrested both occupants of the vehicle.

    Suspect Catarino Corral, age 18, was arrested for felony charges related to the possession of the loaded firearm. Corral is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a previous criminal conviction. The second suspect (name withheld) was arrested for misdemeanor charges related to the possession of the unloaded revolver.
