    Firearms and Narcotics Related Arrest

    During the month of January 2022, Deputies with Camarillo Patrol Services responded to a call of suspicious activity in the 4000 block of Vincente Ave, in Camarillo. Special Enforcement Detail (SED) detectives responded to the location to assist in the investigation.

    Detectives learned Darren Pellegrino lived at the location but was not present when deputies arrived.
    Based on the facts and evidence located during the call for service, Special Enforcement Detail detectives obtained a signed search warrant for Pellegrino’s residence, located in the 4000 block of Vincente Avenue, Camarillo.

    Detectives served the search warrant and located (2) AR-15 style rifles, (1) shotgun, a large quantity of ammunition, several high-capacity magazines and gun parts, and a large quantity of methamphetamine. Based on the configuration of the AR-15’s seized and current California laws,
    the rifles qualified as assault rifles.

    On February 1, 2022, Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail detectives located Pellegrino and arrested him for illegal possession of assault weapons, possession for sales of a controlled substance, unlawful transfer of firearms and possession of a controlled substance with firearms.

    Pellegrino was booked into the Ventura County Main Jail. On February 2, 2022, Pellegrino posted $50,000 bail. He is scheduled for court on February 17, 2022.
    The Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail is comprised of six plain clothes detectives who focus on efforts that negatively affect the quality of life of the law-abiding citizens of Camarillo. The goal of Camarillo SED is to reduce property and violent crime through investigations and direct enforcement.

    Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information, which leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for this crime.
