    Firearms arrest in Oxnard

    Oxnard Police Department – Incident Press Release 

    June 19, 2020, 9:10 P.M., officers from the Oxnard Police Department conducted a traffic stop for vehicle code violations at Gloria Court and Colonia Road in Oxnard.  Rivera-Lopez was the driver of the vehicle.  He was initially untruthful about his name.  Officers learned he had two outstanding warrants for his arrest.  During a search of the vehicle, officers located a loaded 9mm handgun on the driver’s floorboard of the vehicle.  Rivera-Lopez is prohibited from possessing firearms.  Drugs were also located in the vehicle. 

    Twenty year old Rivera-Lopez was arrested for several firearm-related charges and drug charges.  A passenger was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance and giving false information to an officer.
