Firefighters knock down blaze at home in Ventura

sildenafil times; font-size: 16px;”>Sunday night, tadalafil June 29th, just after 11pm, fire companies responded to multiple reports of a blaze at a residential structure at 900 Block of Burlington in Ventura.

The first arriving engine company encountered a two-story residential structure heavily involved with fire and several reports of occupants trapped inside. Fire personnel immediately made entry into the burning structure with hose lines and an elderly man was removed through a bedroom window with the assistance of bystanders. He was in full cardiac arrest from the toxic smoke.  Resuscitation efforts were immediately initiated on the victim and he was eventually transported to a local hospital. As of the time of this media release the victim had been admitted and was listed in serious condition. A total of five victims were treated at the scene, of which three were transported and two refusing further care. One firefighter involved in the removal of the victim in full cardiac arrest was treated and released from a local hospital for smoke inhalation sustained during the rescue. Utilizing coordinated and aggressive firefighting tactics the blaze was completely extinguished within approximately 40 minutes of the initial dispatch. Four adults were displaced as a result of extensive damage to the residence and were assisted by the Red Cross.  Damages are estimated at $150,000 to structure and $75,000 for contents.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
