UPDATED- Home Invasion: Man shot in the 3200 block of Channel Drive in Ventura–his car stolen
UPDATE: FROM VENTURA POLICE DEPARTMENT:
On 2-4-15 at 0756 hours VPD communications received a call from the victim advising that he had just been shot by someone in his residence. Officers responded and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso. Preliminary information from the victim is that the suspect broke into his residence and during a struggle the suspect shot him. The suspect fled the scene in the victim’s car, a white Mercedes E300 CA# 6MVL199.
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment and is expected to survive. The suspect is considered armed and dangerous and anyone with information related to this incident is urged to call the Ventura Police Department at (805) 339-4309.
The investigation is ongoing and no other information is available for release at this time.

We received a Facebook message and have verified the information with the Ventura Police Department. At about 7:55 am, Wednesday morning, February 4th, in the 3200 block of Channel Drive a Hispanic male wearing black hoodie and black checkered shorts and a blue bandana covering his face was armed with a gun shot a man in the stomach. The suspect then stole the wounded man’s 2010 white Mercedes c230 plate number: 6nvl199.
The incident occurred close to the Blanche Reynolds Elementary School. Children were in the area but unharmed.
The police are preparing to release more information on the incident.
