(Santa Clarita, CA) – Today, former Naval Officer and fighter Mike Garcia will report raising over $232,000 for his Congressional campaign during the third financial quarter of 2019. The momentum for Garcia’s campaign continued into October raising another $41,000 in the first week. Already the leading GOP fundraiser in the race, Garcia’s impressive showing totals to nearly $525,000 in the six months since the start of his run for Congress.

“The support we’re receiving for our campaign and the momentum we’re building has been truly tremendous in the short time we’ve been in the race,” said Mike Garcia. “Every day we add new supporters and more volunteers who resonate with our message of fighting for freedom and standing against the socialist policies Katie Hill and her colleagues continue to push in Washington. I am truly humbled and look forward to being a strong voice for this great district in Congress.”

Mike Garcia’s fundraising haul is made up of over 3,000 donors. The financial backing from across the district echoes the support Garcia is receiving on the ground with endorsements of over 20 current and former elected officials including Governor Pete Wilson and Congressmen Elton Gallegly and Buck McKeon, 130 veterans, and 80 volunteers.

Along with fundraising strength, the grassroots support continues to grow as Katie Hill’s hometown Council President endorsed Garcia for Congress. “Katie Hill may be a resident of Agua Dulce, but she certainly hasn’t been our Congresswoman,” said Agua Dulce Town Council President Don Henry. “Katie Hill simply continues to ignore her hometown, and while we’ve gotten to know Mike Garcia, I am confident he’ll be the type of Congressman who will represent us honorably in Washington.”

Mike Garcia believes in a strong national defense and is a pro-business, pro-taxpayer, political outsider with nearly 20 years of service to this country as one of the first Super Hornet strike fighter pilots in the Navy and is a highly decorated US Naval Officer.  Garcia is a first-generation American whose father immigrated to the US in 1959 and has lived in the 25th district for nearly all of his life.  Garcia lives in Santa Clarita with his wife and two sons. He was recently named to the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Young Guns program as one of the top 40 GOP candidates in the country.
The 25th district encompasses the cities of Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Palmdale, Lancaster and the northern part of the San Fernando Valley.  The median income is $76,866 and the ethnic breakdown is 45.8% White, 8% Black, 7.7% Asian and 35.3% Hispanic.  The only Democrat, prior to 2018, to carry the district in the last 18 years was Obama, by less than 1%.
