    Former State Park Employee Pleads Guilty to Embezzlement of Public Funds

    Kevin Jacob Enns (DOB 3/10/75), of Ventura, pled guilty to one felony count of embezzlement of public funds pursuant to Penal Code section 424.

    Enns was employed by the State of California, Department of Parks and Recreation, for approximately 20 years. Enns worked as an entry gate attendant at the San Buenaventura State Beach. It is alleged that from June 8, 2019, to July 6, 2019, Enns stole a portion of the cash he received for park entrance fees. The loss is estimated to be $2690.

    Sentencing for Enns is scheduled for September 3, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. in courtroom 23 of the Ventura County Superior Court. The maximum prison term to which Enns may be sentenced is four years.

     

    The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office is the public prosecutor for the county’s 850,000 residents. The office employs approximately 280 employees including attorneys, investigators, victim advocates, and other professional support staff who strive to seek justice, ensure public safety, and protect the rights of crime victims.
