Fourth Annual Banana Festival Announces Entertainment Line Up

dosage arial,sans-serif;”>The 4th Annual Banana Festival held at the Port of Hueneme on Saturday, September 19 announces its exciting entertainment line-up.

The musical entertainment will play continuously throughout the day with a variety of music to suit all musical preferences. The line-up is as follows:

10:00 a.m. Channel Islands High School Marching Band
11:15 a.m. Blue Breeze Band
1:30 p.m. Herbal Rootz
3:30 p.m. Spencer the Gardener

The fun begins with the Channel Islands High School Marching Band performing for the audience. Next, the dynamic Blue Breeze Band takes to the stage. This fun, lively and energetic band provides audiences with a variety of Motown, R&B, Soul, Funk, Jazz and Blues. This award winning 7-9 piece band has been performing for the past 12 years, all across California and Arizona.

Next in the line-up is one-of-a-kind band, Herbal Rootz. Originating from Ventura, California, Herbal Rootz is a roots, rock, reggae, dub band with enchanting lead vocals and powerful guitar riffs by Christian Ortiz. Joining Rootz is his younger brother, Giovanny Ortiz, adding compelling cognitive rap verses, along with four other talented musicians who create an authentic, unique sound.

Spencer the Gardener closes out the Festival with their brand, “California sun kissed, Latin tinged, genre bending, big band Surf Mariachi Indie pop” music. The band is formed by Santa Barbara native, Spencer Barnitz who has been sharing his musical talents and passion since the late 70’s. Guitars, Bongos, Congas, Trumpets, Saxophone, Bass, Drums and an Accordion make up this quirky, fun and talented band!
The 4th Annual Banana Festival includes live entertainment, waterside port tours, vendor marketplace, arts & crafts, an active kid’s area, plus delectable banana foods and desserts galore! In addition, festival goers can tour thorough the ‘Port Pavilion’ showcasing the history and inner workings of the Port. Event admission and parking are free. No pets or coolers are allowed on festival grounds.
