Thursday, May 11, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Paula Art Museum

On Thursday, May 11, learn all about painting “en plein air” (outdoors) from artist Laura Wambsgans! The artist’s talk begins at 3:00 p.m. at the Santa Paula Art Museum. Wambsgans is one of the PAC6 painters – a group of six artists who travel and paint together and who are featured in the Santa Paula Art Museum’s current exhibition “Between Heaven and Earth: The PAC6 Paints the Sierras.” Admission to the talk is $4.00 for adults, $3.00 for seniors, and free for students and museum members.

A native of California, Laura Wambsgans began landscape painting sixteen years ago after working as a sculptor for two decades. Wambsgans will show all of the equipment needed for painting outdoors and on location, and will demonstrate how it all works. She will also provide an insider’s view of the painting process, from initial inspiration and working in the wild, to the finished painting.

The Santa Paula Art Museum, Jeanette Cole Art Center is located at 117 North 10th Street in beautiful downtown Santa Paula. The Museum features rotating exhibitions of vintage and contemporary art, educational programming for children and adults, artist talks and demonstrations, a gift shop, and more.
