Genre Survey generated Concert Series launches 1st free concert Saturday, July 24th at Constitution Park

    by Chris Bailey

    22 July 2021, Camarillo

The Free Camarillo Concert Series that was cancelled last year due to the SARS-COV-2 virus and COVID-19 disease has been brought back. The lead off event will be on Saturday, July 24, from 5-7pm at Constitution Park in Camarillo. Please note that the concerts have been set earlier than they have been in the past. The park is located directly behind the Camarillo City Hall at 601 Carmen Drive, Camarillo, CA 93010

GOLD RUSH COUNTRY is a Southern California hi-energy contemporary country band. Their concert credentials include performing with 2013 Grammy Award Winner Little Big Town, 2014 Grammy Award Winner Kacey Musgraves, Cowboy Troy, Jaron and The Long Road To Love, Kixx Brooks (Brooks & Dunn), Eddie Money, Justin Moore, Rodney Atkins, Josh Thompson, Sunny Ledfurd, Eden’s Edge, John Pardi and Charlie Worsham.

    YEEEEHAAAAW!

GOLD RUSH COUNTRY combines a classic rock act with the heart and soul of today’s hot Top 40 country. Sounds like Camarillo will be getting a small dose of StageCoach, without the drive.

There WILL be people dancing, so fair warning!

Pleasant Valley Parks and Recreation are responsible for the event, and any information you need to ask is available here

Chair Placement Folding chairs are recommended for concert use. NOTE: The event has changed the time chairs can be placed to save a spot at the park to 8am on the day of the concert. This is the new standard and will not change for the next concert. Please respect the new rule. Don’t forget to bring water to stay hydrated, and there are portable restrooms in the parking lot for those who need the facilities. Constitution Park does not have a permanent restroom facility.

Attendees are welcome to bring low folding chairs, blankets and a picnic dinner to enjoy during the concerts. Seating is on the lawn with first-come, first-serve basis. Residents will be allowed to save their spot in advance by placing their chairs on the grass, no earlier than 8am the day of the concert.

Food Trucks will be on site offering tasty options for a purchased dinner or dessert. Food Truck applications are now being accepted. Download the form and contact Connor Soudani at 805-482-1996 x116. Community Partners Sponsorship opportunities are full for this event. Volunteer opportunities are also available. Please contact Katlyn Simber-Clickener at (805) 482-1996 x107.

COVID-19 Safety Protocols will be consistent with the most recent guidance from the California Department of Health and county health. Masks will be required for unvaccinated attendees.

The Pleasant Valley Park and Recreation District conducted a community Genre Survey in 2020 to learn what music genres were most in demand, and the District has high confidence in the results: Rock & Roll, Pop, Country, and Rhythm & Blues. The band selections for 2021 were chosen to adhere to those preferences as closely as possible while also providing the community with the most desirable choices available.

The weather should be perfect, and due to the earlier concert time, don’t forget to protect yourself from the sun’s rays should you come  early to have a picnic before the concert.
