Godspeak Calvary Pastor Rob McCoy makes himself “essential”

By Michael Hernandez

NEWBURY PARK—Godspeak Calvary Pastor Rob McCoy was featured on the Fox News Sean Hannity show tonight with former Utah Congressman Jason Chaffetz following a tweet made by former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee stating: “My friend Rob McCoy heard my suggestion on @[email protected] and took me up on it! Take THAT Gavin Newsom! California Pastor Temporarily Turns His Chapel into a Strip Club to be Deemed ‘Essential.’”

Pastor McCoy removed his tie to music before beginning his church sermon this past Sunday “so his church can become a ‘strip club’ which is deemed “essential” by California Governor Gavin Newsom.” McCoy said that he would ask Gov. Huckabee to “bail me out” if he got in trouble.

“We have been wide open since May 31st (with indoor church services) and no one” in this congregation until recently has contracted COVID-19 though not at the church,” said Pastor Rob McCoy. “In California, liquor stores and cannabis stores are deemed essential.

“Our county health officer, who just received a 12.5 percent salary raise, has closed our county’s restaurants and 55 percent of them will not reopen. Likewise, strip clubs can remain open but churches are closed.

“We just celebrated the 400th anniversary of the signing of the Mayflower Compact (a covenant between the Pilgrims and God) and now we are being told to shut down for Thanksgiving. We don’t consent to that. It’s time to stand up! said Pastor McCoy.

Pastor McCoy’s satire shows WHY the lockdown double-standard is absurd and bigoted. This is why we laugh. It is truth wrapped in humor.

Ignore the naysayers. Pastor McCoy has learned to use humor to deliver the truth amid a lying fake news media. Just like President Trump.

Too bad the RNC won’t suffer itself to push (R) candidates to campaign the same way! When truth is told in joke form, only the dishonest can deny it!!

I wonder how the Pilgrims were able to pray to God without making it to the Miller Family YMCA in Dos Vientos. Weird, they didn’t even have any buildings to congregate in. How on earth did God hear them? And BTW, the surviving members of the Mayflower journey agreed through the Mayflower Compact to be governed by majority rule rather than by the Pilgrims’ theocratic aspirations. Seems like a really good idea that’s stood the test of 400 years.

And here’s another question regarding the irrationality of Rob’s logic: how many people does his church employ? How many people (besides Rob) are making a living working there? Unless his church is responsible for the income of at least a dozen or so people, we don’t need his church open. And if you can’t live your life without going to church, do we classify that as a drug?

I wonder how God feels about Rob stripping and likening his church to a “house of sin.” Rob needs the people of his congregation cheering him on to feel good about himself. Anyone who’s studied psychology can recognize this narcissism. And if anyone can show me why Christianity is true and Hinduism is false, they should be writing books and changing the entirety of man’s theological understanding. But we’re still waiting for that insight.
