Goodbye Constitution Freedom America by Don Jans

Godspeak Pastor Rob McCoy: “God is causing the church to wake up: It’s time to awaken; it’s time to repent; it’s time to engage”

    By Michael Hernandez

NEWBURY PARK—“God is causing the church to wake up,” said Godspeak Pastor Rob McCoy during Sunday’s worship service. “It’s time to awaken; it’s time to repent; it’s time to engage. My God, is a God of hope.”

Pastor McCoy used Act 10:1-16 as his text for his sermon which he began with a statement: “Truth sets us free. The world loves comfort more than truth. We have come to become complacent. Then we come into bondage.

“Do you love freedom? Then fight back. It is going to come at a cost. You’re going to be shamed, but be faithful. When you stand, then your family is changed and your whole family can come to know Christ.

“Liberty is intrinsic in every human heart but the desire for it is not. Americans are no longer lovers of freedom; but lovers of pleasure and things. We are rapidly losing our Christian formation. We send off our children to secular schools to be indoctrinated. We both go to work so we can accumulate things.

“Americans are no longer lovers of freedom but lovers of pleasure and things. Freedom isn’t natural to us because we are sinful; selfish. We want somebody else to do the work. We have tolerated over a billion people murdered by Communism and Fascism.

“George Soros spent $380 million dollars this past month to fundamentally redesign America. That is in addition to the $19 billon he has already poured in. You go into any major city and the district attorney office is placed there by George Soros and his minions. They are pledging everything. We have havoc and chaos on the streets.

“Our local officials running for office that hold our values can’t raise any money because no one gives. No one walks precincts. You know what they ask me all the time? Is Trump going to win? You know why they’re asking me. You’re asking: ‘Can I relax now?’

Pastor McCoy spoke of his recent 48-hour trip to Lake Wildwood where he and his wife, Michelle, and mother-in-law had breakfast with former Nevada City Mayor Reinette Senum who resigned from office in June (she had just been re-elected Mayor for a second term) due to disagreement with the draconian shut-down measures of Gov. Gavin Newsom that the rest of the City Council was embracing.

(Editor’s Note: Former Mayor and Thousand Oaks City Councilman Rob McCoy resigned from his position due to his stance on opening up Godspeak in April so his fellow council members would not be placed in an awkward situation due to his actions as a pastor.)

Senum, who is a self-professed liberal lesbian, shared a list of draconian measures given by Amnesty International which focused on sociologist Albert Biedermann’s 1957 Chart of Coercion which recounts Communist Coercive Methods for Eliciting Individual Compliance developed by Chinese Communists to coerce information and false confessions from American servicemen:

    1. Isolation
    2. Exhaustion & Induced Debility
    3. Threats & Intimidation
    4. Humiliation & Degradation
    5. Distortion
    6. Omnipotence
    7. Intermittent Reinforcement
    8. Enforcing Trivial Demands
<span style=font family helvetica arial sans serif font size 12pt>Albert Bidermanns 1957 Chart of Coercion<span>

Pastor Rob in his sermon analogy compared Annette Senum to Cornelius because she “is praying and hungry for the things of God” and she is lamenting on “freedom being evaporated.”

“I told her that the only reason that the western world has had freedom and been so successful is because we have embraced Christianity. ‘You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.’ Any culture that removes God, goes toward oppression because mankind ultimately wants other people to work for him. We are selfish.”

Pastor McCoy recounted what he said last week: “If I had told you on Jan. 2 of this year that every church in America would be closed; 65 percent of the restaurants would never open; children would not be in school (forget their prom and graduations); that we would release convicts out on the streets, you wouldn’t be able to be with your loved ones when they are dying; and you wouldn’t be able to do a wedding or a funeral; and we are going to do that all with a virus” what would you have thought?

“But to care about the economy is to care about human life,” wrote Heather MacDonald in Hillsdale College’s Imprimis publication which Pastor McCoy shared at the Godspeak service.

”Government officials, having shut down commerce due to unblemished ignorance of how markets work, now enabled the torching and looting of thousands of businesses due to the shirking of their most profound responsibility: protecting civil peace.

“Small businesses, lacking the resources to outlast the shutdowns, now saw the final depletion of their inventories. (Public) officials safe behind their security details and publicly-owned mansions, foreswore the activation of the National Guard and military. None of those officials owned businesses, so they faced no loss either from economic quarantine or from physical rampage.

“The politicians, pundits, and health experts who had condescending rebuked business owners for reopening without official permission, who had banned funerals and church services of more than 10 people, and who had heaped scorn on protesters who had gathered in state capitols to express their economic distress, suddenly became avid cheerleaders for streaming crowds numbering in the thousands.

“The public officials who ceded their authority to the so-called experts were deaf to the pleas of law-abiding business owners who saw their life’s efforts snuffed out. They engineered the destruction of trillions of dollars of wealth, through thoroughly arbitrary decision making. And then they stood by as billions more dollars of work burned down.

“Pulling the country back from the abyss will require a recalling of our civilizational inheritance.”

“Let’s awaken from our slumber that we would serve instead of slumber, said Pastor McCoy in his closing prayer. “We will awaken to our responsibility. Give your lives as a ransom.”

The 1 p.m. worship service ended with a jubilant testimony of the Lord’s healing by a father of a two-year old son, Royal, who fell on Friday onto his head over a bannister two stories high. Godspeak Assistant Pastor Craig Linquist responded by sending out a prayer alert to many in the congregation.

Meanwhile, Royal needed to be airlifted to UCLA. However, Royal was released by doctors the next day with no sign of injury; except a fracture in his temple; no pain in his body; and no surgeries needed.

Royal, when asked what happened said: “God and his angels put a pillow down for me.” When asked at church: “Who healed you?” Royal’s emphatic response: “Jesus.”

Perhaps people like hearing Rob McCoy because he sounds “right” politically, However the pulpit is Not the correct forum for this. Missing was: the true Gospel message, Biblical “truth”, judgment to come upon those who do not repent, love and prayer for our enemies/ those who persecute us, Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross, putting our trust in the Lord, looking forward to our Blessed Hope, and To God be the Glory in Everything! I am troubled by much including: the misapplication of Scripture, Eternal matters exchanged for this temporary world, Seeing enemies instead of opportunities to share the good news, etc…1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures…

Nonsense. NcCoy has laid the biblical groundwork for all of this before. This was an update. The pulpit is certainly a valid forum to talk about this.

At least he was able to get the word “God” in the “sermon”.

What would you expect the silent majority to do? At least he has the guts to come forward with the truth to try to avert the communist and marxist trend we are enduring right now and maybe forever if they win. They are the REAL snake oil salespeople. This country’s greatness was build upon democracy and freedom. That’s what made America GREAT!

I am wondering about your goal with this article. Many of the ideas espoused by the “Great Reverend McCoy” sarcasm intended with the title borders on conspiracy theories. I respect religion as I grew up with a mother who was a devout Christian and never once had to blow a horn to gain attention but everyone knew by the example she set and her quiet testimony. Reverend McCoy comes across as a snake oil salesman and many of his action come across as self-serving and not in any way for the betterment of his community. It makes me wonder is he working to set himself up as the second coming and how he will save us by running for some higher office. I will watch closely and see if ultimately my thought pattern plays out and goes the way I suggest. I believe this is how most cults are started.
