“Good Club” Oxnard candidates night

By George Miller and Dan Pinedo

The local Oxnard Democratic Club, which calls itself “The Good Club,” presented most (18) of its local candidates for nine offices this week at the downtown “Cafe on A” at this well-organized event. Some other candidates didn’t make it, but it is clear that the majority of Oxnard office seekers are Democrats. DTS (Decline To State-registered) candidates were not invited.

Our videographer Dan Pinedo recorded the event and presents several videos below.

The moderator was actor Dan Tullis Jr., an interesting guy and charismatic character who made the moderation fun and the trains run on time. Started on the dot, finished 3 min early, with time for frantic pitches by the Irwin and Castillo campaigns.
Good Club President AJ Valenzuela graciously provided us with the full list of candidates, luckily, since we wouldn’t have gotten them all right ….

We ask that all candidates for the same position sit in front and are given a 1 minute opening statement, 45 second responses for questions from the audience and reviewed by the moderator, and a 30 second closing statement. We will be strict on time due to the amount of candidates we have coming to our forum.
