Grenade found in plastic bag on A Street in Oxnard

A suspicious device was found in the alley at 1041 N. A Street.  The item located was found to be a grenade that was in a plastic bag.  Approximately 15 people were evacuated for safety concerns.  No one was injured during the evacuation.  The Ventura County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad responded to assist with the investigation.  The grenade was found to be inert.  The Bomb Squad took possession of the grenade and later destroyed it.
