Hap Rapp Memorial Track Meet | A Camarillo Tradition

The Hap Rapp Memorial Track Meet is a Camarillo tradition.  Rotarian Hap Rapp founded the meet for aspiring young athletes in 1959.

The meet was held on Saturday, May 19 at the Adolfo Camarillo High School Track.  The meet is designed for 4th through 8th graders to discover their athletic ability.  Over 300 students participated.  Events include the 50 and 100-yard dash, high jump, long jump, shot put, relay and distance races.  Dozens of volunteers measured and timed the events.  Ribbons and trophies were presented.  The Guy Craig Memorial Award was given to the school that demonstrated the best overall preparedness, sportsmanship, conduct and cooperation.  This year it was given to Mesa Union.  High scores are listed below.
