Happy Easter Weekend
By George Miller
We have staffers and writers who are Christian, Jewish, Agnostic, Atheist and Muslim- and those are just the ones we know about. This weekend contains Easter, this Sunday for most U.S. Christian denominations, the holiest of holy days for Christians, which we will rejoice with them for. Christians observe “Good Friday” as the day Jesus Christ was crucified two millennia ago and died for our sins and Easter Sunday as his resurrection, then subsequent ascension into heaven.
It’s also a secular and national holiday, which draws upon ancient pagan customs, too. Easter eggs, bunnys, festive breakfasts and dinners etc. figure into the celebrations enjoyed by people of multiple faiths, or none. Enjoy!
