Harry D. Cortez– 20 years of exemplary service on Oxnard Police Chiefs Advisory Board. He has been especially instrumental in helping to improve the trust and bond between the community and police department.

Black American Political Association of California (BAPAC) honored Oxnard City Corp for its outstanding serviceOxnardCityCorpLogo in organizing/running the annual Juneteenth Celebration at Plaza Park. Juneteenth celebrates freeing of the slaves a century and a half ago (1865). They also marked the 5oth anniversary of the passage of the Voting Rights Act which greatly increased ballot access.
