HashtagComedy in Thousand Oaks: Last Comic Standing! And one just cast on Saturday Night Live!
HILLCREST CENTER FOR THE ARTS Celebrates #COMEDY
HashtagComedy has been bringing some of Hollywood’s funniest headliners to Thousand Oaks each month for an evening of entertainment. September’s intimate cabaret setting is Saturday, September 19 at 8:00 pm at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts, 403 W. Hillcrest Dr. The hour and a half show is for eighteen years and up only, and cocktails may be purchased with valid ID. Doors open at 7:30.
#Comedy’s very own Jon Huck, Sammy Obeid and Francisco Ramos (pictured l-r) have just found themselves in the top 100 invitational round of Last Comic Standing! Huck will perform in this month’s lineup, along with Todd Rexx. Brett Riley, Justin Martindale and Talia Harari, hosted by Julia Jasiunas. Another #Comedy veteran, Jon Rudnitsky, was just added to the cast of Saturday Night Live. Rudnitsky will not be returning this month, but may return for future monthly comedy shows in Thousand Oaks.
Jon Huck is an Actor and a Comedian who has appeared on Comedy Central’s Live At Gotham and “This Is Not Happening” for Comedy Central Digital. Jon has an album available on iTunes and has two films out on Netflix He’s appeared in commercials and television shows such as MTV’s Punk’d, TBS’s Frank TV and the Disney Channel pilot “Kirby Buckets.” Also a writer and producer, his credits are include on NBC, MTV and the Disney Channel.
For almost 2 decades, Todd Rexx has been winning over audiences with his top impersonations and brilliant crowd interaction, throughout Europe, Japan, Canada, Mexico, U.S. Virgin Islands, and coast to coast in the states. He has worked with Jerry Seinfeld, David Allen Grier, Dave Attell, Jeffery Ross, Ray Romano, Chris Rock, Bernie Mac, Russell Peters, Dave Chappelle, Craig Robinson and Bill Burr. His comedic pursuits landed him his own headline gig, “The Todd Rexx Show” at the Palms hotel and casino in Las Vegas, NV. Todd’s numerous television appearances include BET’s Comicview(1994-2005), Tonight show with Jay Leno(1995), HBO’s Def Comedy Jam all-stars, Comedy Factory (Netherlands) Raymond is Late (Netherlands), Rumbles (HDNet), Baggin’ (VH1).
Brett Riley is an accomplished comedian and vocalist, and a crowd favorite in the Los Angeles comedy scene. He was most recently named to “Best of Fest” at the San Luis Obispo Comedy Festival, won Wichita’s “King of Comedy”, and the “Roc Da Mic Comedy Competition” in Compton.
Justin Martindale is an LA based comedian who has been seen as a guest on E!’s “Live From E!” and the series “Worst Thing I Ever…” In 2014, he was the co-creator for the hit Funny or Die web series “NOT LOOKING” which received high acclaim by Slate Magazine, The Advocate, and Huffington Post. He has written for Joan Rivers on Fashion Police and has opened for Sandra Bernhard, Whitney Cummings, and Fortune Feimster.
Julia Jasiunas is the creator and producer of HashtagComedyLA, and each month she brings an amazing line up of professional comedians right here to her home town in the Conejo Valley. A comedienne, actor, singer/songwriter, dancer and all around performer, Julia has performed at many Hollywood hot spots such as The Comedy Store, Westside Comedy Theatre, Flappers Comedy Club, and The Lyric Theatre as well as The Comedy Palace and Madhouse Comedy Club in San Diego, Ca. Most recently, Julia opened for Ahmed Ahmed at the Tahoe Improv! She has also been featured in many regional musicals such as “Annie” with Cabrillo Music Theatre and “I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change”. .
