    Hate Crime / Battery in Moorpark

    Ventura County Sheriff – Incident Press Release

    The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a hate crime that occurred in the city of Moorpark Tuesday evening.

    On November 3, 2020, at about 8:51 p.m. Moorpark Patrol Station deputies responded to a call of a battery in the area of Spring Road at Walnut Canyon Road. A man and a woman were walking in the area and were battered by two unidentified men. One of the suspects made derogatory racial remarks against Hispanic people during the attack. The victims, who were both Hispanic, were transported to a local hospital and treated and released for minor injuries.

    The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office does not tolerate any action motivated by hate and aggressively investigates all criminal activity, including hate crimes. Anyone with information about this crime may contact Detective JD Eisenhard at (805) 494-8224.

    Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information, which leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for this crime.  The caller may remain anonymous.  The call is not recorded.  Call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477).
