    I love my fruits and vegetables, but I was brought up that way. The one thing I look at with a jaundiced eye are items labeled “organic.”

    They are frequently more costly and are of no nutritional advantage over the produce not marked organic. When it comes to fertilizers, plants do not make any uptake of organic matter, but do inorganic nitrogen, potassium, phosphorous and assorted micro-nutrients. When it comes to pesticide residue on produce at your grocery store, there’s NO measurable residue.

    So if you want available, cost effective fruits and vegetables avoid the organic counters.
