From the National Weather Service, San Diego:
A cold polar storm will ride south over California and merge with tropical moisture on Tuesday. This brings periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms Tuesday night and Wednesday. The cold air arrives on Wednesday for heavy snowfall above 6000 feet. Showers continues behind the main storm during Wednesday night and Thursday. Significant rainfall and rainfall rates could lead to urban and small stream flooding and impacts to dry creeks and burn scars. Snowfall on Wednesday will cause impacts to mountain passes and highways.
