HHS Sec’y Price resigns under fire

Official White House announcement on resignation/replacement of HHS Secy Tom Price.

Price appeared to be doing well in achieving Trump’s objectives and made significant spending cuts. But his questionable use of multiple expensive charter flights appeared contradictory to stated objectives of cutting spending and “draining the swamp.” Flights cost about $190,000. Price has agreed to repay over $50,000 of that, which he claims was the cost of his seats on the flights. He has reportedly also flown on military aircraft on official trips reportedly costing about a half-million dollars 

Trump had repeatedly complained about the situation, saying he wasn’t happy with it and that the “optics” were poor. “I’m not happy, okay?” the President told reporters. “I’m not happy.”
