A fast moving brush fire, duped the Hill Fire, closed the 101 Freeway at the Conejo Grade. It started at 2:03 PM above the Santa Rosa Valley. Strong Santa Ana winds have prompted evacuations of the Camarillo Springs among other areas. For a map of the evacuations: https://www.vcemergency.com
The fire has grown to over 10,000 acres and threatens homes along with the University at Channel Islands. Personnel have been re-positioned to the front-line of the growing blaze.
Another fire that started near the old Rocketdyne field lab site in Simi Valley. That one is now called the Woolsey fire.
Updated information on the fires and evacuations can be found at VC Alerts: https://www.vcemergency.com
Red Flag conditions are expected to last through Friday.
