Santa Paula Police Department
On Sunday, September 1, 2019 at approximately 6:36 PM, the Santa Paula Police Department received numerous 911 calls concerning a traffic collision in the 200 block of S 8th St. A Chrysler 300 traveling northbound collided with a Chevrolet mini van parked along the east curb. The callers stated that the three male occupants of the Chrysler fled the scene on foot. Officers searched the area and located one subject, Erik Gonzalez, nearby. The blood trail dissipated and the other 2 occupants of the Chrysler remain at large. A search of the Chrysler located several open containers of alcohol. Additionally, two semi-automatic handguns were recovered. A records check of Gonzalez was conducted returned with an active warrant. He was taken into custody for the warrant with other charges pending. The investigation is ongoing.
