Homeless woman in Ventura attacked with Pipe

Ventura Police Department – Incident Press Release

On December 3rd at 11:43 PM the Ventura Police Department Command Center received a call regarding a homeless woman who had been struck repeatedly with a metal pipe in the 100 block of East Santa Clara St. in Ventura. The victim reported she was gathering her property when an unknown white male in his 30’s approached her and began striking her in the torso with a metal pipe. The victim said she did not know why the suspect attacked her because it was unprovoked. She pled for the suspect to stop hitting her, and the suspect dropped the pipe and fled the area on foot.

Several officers responded, including a police K9, and conducted a lengthy canvass of the area for the suspect but did not locate him. The victim had minor injuries and was transported to the Ventura County Medical Center for treatment.

This is an active investigation. Anyone with information, or who is a witness to this crime, is asked to contact the Ventura Police Department at (805) 650-8010.
