How serious is Biden about protecting America’s borders?

    Chad Groening (OneNewsNow.com)

An immigration enforcement advocacy organization says the apprehension of nearly a dozen Iranian nationals attempting to enter the U.S. from Mexico tells him President Joe Biden isn’t serious about protecting the American people.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection has announced that U.S. Border Patrol agents recently arrested 11 Iranian nationals after they crossed into the U.S. near San Luis, a city in the southwest corner of Arizona. Agents ascertained that the group had entered the U.S. illegally from Mexico and were Iranian. CBP says since October 2020, Border Patrol agents in the Yuma sector have apprehended 14 Iranian nationals.

Ira Mehlman is a spokesman for the Federation for American Immigration Reform. He is concerned that illegal aliens are coming from what are known as “Special Interest Countries” like Iran.

“Iran is a country that clearly does not have the U.S.’s best interest at heart,” he begins. “Obviously, we know nothing about these people – most likely they were people who were simply trying to escape a brutal regime in Tehran, but we don’t know.”

    Mehlman

Mehlman says that is why the U.S. government must fulfill its obligation to protect the American people.

“These are the things that come along with the obligation of being president of the United States,” he says of the border apprehensions. “And it seems what the president has done in the first couple weeks of his administration is send a signal that he’s not really very serious about this.”

According to the Fox News report, border enforcement efforts in Texas and California over the years have pushed those trying to cross the border illegally into dangerous terrain in Arizona – and that policy changes under the Biden administration could be encouraging border-crossers to flood north.

A deputy sheriff stationed in southern Arizona says that since Biden took office a border crisis has begun, as policies such as stopping the construction of the border wall, amnesty, and catch-and-release have incited immigrants to freely cross the border.
