Huge Crowd Welcomes New Grocery Store to Oxnard
By Raven West
Hundreds of excited shoppers lined up early to welcome Aldi Food Market to Oxnard. A well-known chain throughout Europe, Aldi prides itself in offering the highest quality products at the lowest prices, such as their 39 cent avocados!
Busy first day
Cashiers are wonderfully helpful
The 12,000 square foot store features extra-wide aisles and nearly 1,500 items. Shoppers will find that more than 90 percent of the products are ALDI exclusive brands not found on any other store shelves.
There are no checkers – customers check out and bag their own groceries. By taking them to the bagging area, reduces the time checking out in the waiting line. Checkers are on hand to assist. You can find them sitting comfortably at the end of the check-out!
Another feature exclusive to Aldi is their shopping cart rental system. New customers may be surprised at first by having to deposit a quarter to unlock the chain for their shopping cart, but it’s a a minor inconvenience for not seeing tons of abandoned shopping carts taking up space in the parking lot! The deposit is refunded once the cart is returned and locked.
Every Wednesday, the store highlights a special “produce pick of the week”. There is also a revolving non-food sales aisle of Aldi Finds and weekly Red Hot Specials found on-line.
Welcome to Oxnard, Aldi Grocery!
