Information meeting on FEMA recovery programs set in Santa Paula

VENTURA, Calif. – In close coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency, their federal partners and the California Office of Emergency Services, the County is coordinating a Community Meeting this Wednesday evening in Santa Paula at which information on individual assistance programs available through FEMA to local individuals and businesses can be obtained.  Representatives of the CalRecycle debris removal program will also be in attendance to answer questions for those who enrolled in that program.

Residents from all areas of the county are welcome to attend this meeting.

The meeting will be held:

Wednesday, January 24, 6:00 p.m.

Ventura County Agriculture Museum

926 Railroad Avenue, Santa Paula

Spanish-language translators and sign language interpreters will be available at the meeting.

Residents affected by the fire will hear from FEMA Individual Assistance and Small Business Administration officials on the registration process, understanding the IA process, services available at Disaster Recovery Centers, what to expect after registering, and the benefits of low-interest disaster loans.

Following presentations, representatives from FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance teams and SBA representatives can provide one-on-one help for homeowners and renters impacted by the wildfires, flooding and mud flows, including registering them and providing updates on their registrations.

Residents may also visit the main FEMA Assistance Center located in the Ventura County Credit Union office at 6026 Telephone Road in Ventura during business hours to obtain information or meet with FEMA representatives.
