It Is a War – On the Truth
By Phil Erwin
We can all thank Professor Jonathan Gruber for setting us straight about how the Progressive Left and its darling Obama administration all view the American public: Too stupid for your own good.
Gruber, if you are unaware, is the MIT economics professor and healthcare consultant who has publicly, and repeatedly, called Americans stupid, economically ignorant and incapable of making good choices for themselves.
And for this extraordinary point of view, the American taxpayer has paid this “expert” millions in consultant fees. That, apparently, was what it was worth to Democrats to have his help in selling the pack of lies, obfuscations, misdirections and outright fraud known to us stupid citizens as “ObamaCare”.
We’re so lucky that Democrats have our best interests at heart when they deceive us, demonize us, belittle us, make us wildly impossible promises, and then laugh behind closed doors at our stupidity. (Yes, Gruber’s audiences actually laughed.)
Haven’t heard about the “good” Professor? The FOX newshounds have been reporting on this for well over a week. Every day. On virtually every program. Complete with video clips that make it very, very clear that Gruber wasn’t just caught in a rare moment of misstatement, which was how he excused himself on MSNBC. His on-camera diatribes in meetings and speeches over the course of many months make it crystal clear that Gruber really believes government should manage healthcare because Americans are too stupid to tie their own shoes.
But you hear almost nothing about this on “mainstream” media. Narry a peep on ABC or NBC Nightly Newscasts. CBS and CNN were silent for days. MSNBC originally ran Gruber’s sort-of-apology with Ronan Farrow, without really digging into what he was apologizing for. (Eventually they seemed to agree with Gruber that stupid voters made passing legislation easier.)
Why should any of these so-called ”news” organizations even bother to tell you that a key architect and “supporter” (a.k.a. “shill”) for the ObamaCare monstrosity actually knew it was a deliberate pack of lies; that he is proud of having helped sell it to you on false pretense – and for millions of your tax dollars.
Why would anyone call that “news?”
Well, forgive my naivete, but I suspect that you are smart enough to know that broad-scale, permanently expensive public fraud is, indeed, “news.” So if you are surprised by these revelations, perhaps you are spending your news-watching time with the wrong sources.
Melissa Francis
FOX Business Network
Melissa Francis, an anchor on the FOX Business Network and host of her own show, Money with Melissa Francis, knows how difficult it can be getting the truth out via the “mainstream” media. Back when ObamaCare was just a gleam in Progressives’ eyes, Francis, then working for CNBC, kept questioning ObamaCare proponents about the numbers they were using to sell the proposal. Francis, sadly burdened with a degree in economics from Harvard, found herself struggling to see how it would ever be possible to add millions of people to the nation’s insurance rolls without it costing anyone a dime. Somehow, her Harvard education had twisted her mind to where she couldn’t quite see the sense of that.
“The numbers just don’t add up,” she insisted, and doggedly questioned how people could keep their plans, pay less than they were, and still get more and better coverage. To say nothing of paying for millions more policies.
Ms. Francis’ reward for being a good, sensible, honest business journalist was to get called in on the management carpet and warned to stop “disrespecting the office of the President.”
Which is why you will now find Ms. Francis hosting business discussions on FOX, where the truth is sought out, explored and elevated, rather than buried.
Could there be any connection between the Obama administration’s Professor professing that the numbers of ObamaCare “add up,” and CNBC’s management – whose CEO was on two Obama advisory boards – warning one of their business anchors to Shut up! about Obamacare not adding up?
Hmmm.
There’s a war on, alright. But it isn’t about women. It’s a War on the Truth.
From her perch among the truth-tellers at FOX, the indomitable Ms. Francis warns her viewers: “Don’t trust the other guys! They are willing participants in the campaign to keep the economic truth from you!”
If our nation has any hope of digging itself out of the chasm prevaricating Progressives have dug us into, we must all pay attention where the attention does some good.
Where it educates, rather than befuddle, bamboozle and misdirect.
So, I say again: If you don’t watch FOX, you don’t know sh*t.
