It’s Justice Kavanaugh Now!

October 6, 2018:  After a hard fought, contentious, confirmation fraught with threats, protests, and nasty accusations, the Senate votes 50 to 48 for the nominee. Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska voted present so Republican Sen. Steve Daines of Montana could walk his daughter down the aisle in Montana, his home state.  “Pairing” is a consideration extended to fellow legislators so their absence would be nullified.  Otherwise there was a plane waiting to take Danies back to Washington if his vote was needed.

After a long, bitter fight, with Vice President Pence having to ask for the Sergeant of Arms to restore order several times during the vote, Associate Justice Kavanaugh will take his place on the nation’s highest court.
