K9 Officer deployed after Parole Violator flees on Foot after Crashing Vehicle

On Tuesday November 29, 2016 at approximately 3PM Officers from the Special Enforcement Unit, K9 unit and Neighborhood Policing Team attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Nissan SUV in the area of Oxnard Blvd and Gonzales Road.
The driver of the vehicle was 38 year old Oxnard resident Kilepoa Tuitama. Tuitama had a felony arrest warrant for violation of parole. When the officers initiated the traffic stop instead of yielding, Tuitama drove over the center divider and attempted to flee. Tuitama collided with a nearby vehicle while driving over the center divider. Tuitama abandoned his vehicle a short distance away and attempted to flee on foot.
The officers continued to chase Tuitama on foot and he was ultimately taken into custody by K9 Leo.
Tuitama was charged with violation of parole, felony vehicle pursuit and hit and run.
