Key Law Enforcement and Veterans Endorsements Line up Behind Navy Fighter Pilot Mike Garcia

Former Los Angeles District Attorney and GOP nominee for Attorney General Steve Cooley endorsed Mike Garcia for Congress in the 25th Congressional election in the wake of Katie Hill’s resignation from Congress.
Cooley joins former Ventura District Attorney Mike Bradbury, former President of the Association of LA Deputy Sheriffs Dr. Roy Burns, and Justice Deputy Stephanie English as well as Seal PAC, Combat Veterans for Congress and over 150 veterans in the district in the growing list of Garcia supporters.
“Because of progressive liberals in Sacramento and Washington DC, crime has skyrocketed in California and across the country.  Felonies have been reduced to misdemeanors, “early release” programs and other laws have created an unsafe environment for families, “ said Cooley.  I like everything I see in Mike Garcia.  He’s a no-nonsense, hard-working candidate.  We can’t spend another minute supporting candidates who don’t take these things issues seriously.  Protecting the safety of our citizens is in his blood.”

“I am flattered that someone of Steve Cooley’s stature has endorsed my campaign.  He was well-liked when he was Head Deputy of the Antelope Branch of the LA District Attorney’s office for 8 years when I was a young adult,” said Garcia.  “I grew up with my step-dad serving as a LAPD officer. Watching him serve and protect our communities for so many years showed me the importance of equipping our law enforcement heroes with the tools they need to keep our communities safe. I have an incredible amount of respect for the law enforcement community, and it is a privilege to have the endorsements from iconic crime fighters.”
“On a larger scale, I am also fully committed to keeping our nation safe on the global stage. Having served in the military for nearly 20 years and flown over 30 missions in Operation Iraqi Freedom, I know how tough the job is, as well as the importance of a strong military. That’s why one of the key policy points of my campaign is a fully funded 5-year defense plan, and why I am so deeply humbled and honored to have the endorsement of over 160 veterans from the 25th District. With these principles, I am committed to building a stronger and safer America for our children.”

Mike Garcia believes in a strong national defense and is a pro-business, pro-taxpayer, political outsider with nearly 20 years of service to this country as one of the first Super Hornet strike fighter pilots in the Navy and is a highly decorated US Naval Officer.  Garcia is a first-generation American whose father immigrated to the US in 1959 and has lived in the 25th district for nearly all of his life.  Garcia lives in Santa Clarita with his wife and two sons. He was recently named to the National Republican Congressional Committee’s Young Guns program as one of the top 40 GOP candidates in the country.
The 25th district encompasses the cities of Santa Clarita, Simi Valley, Palmdale, Lancaster and the northern part of the San Fernando Valley.  The median income is $76,866 and the ethnic breakdown is 45.8% White, 8% Black, 7.7% Asian and 35.3% Hispanic.  The only Democrat, prior to 2018, to carry the district in the last 18 years was Obama, by less than 1%.
