Why are you running?

  • I am running for the District 2 seat of the Oxnard City Council because the current civic mismanagement must end. I have talents in leadership and management I believe can benefit all residents and guests in Oxnard. It is time for the stewardship of The City to match the grandeur of its location.

What do you plan to accomplish?

  • Restore trust through openness and honesty.
For too long, city government has operated behind a veil of secrecy. It’s the duty of elected officials to conduct their affairs publicly.
  • Properly manage resources.
Oxnard’s privileged place on the coast of California means it ought to provide plenty of resources to meet its obligations and run a surplus. That it hasn’t indicates egregious mismanagement.
  • Provide a friendlier business climate.
One of the primary keys to The City’s prosperity is a welcoming business environment. “Permit Simplicity” will allow businesses to establish themselves with minimal fuss while safeguarding concerns for safety and the environment.
  • Encourage responsible development.
Linked to the above, Oxnard ought to court those businesses that add would value to the community and provide jobs to the local workforce.
  • Prioritize services.
In light of the current fiscal constraints, City government needs to establish an immediate list of priorities, funding those which are most important, and deferring those that can wait. This decision won’t be popular with those whose budgets may be reduced, but those elected to office must set aside their desire to be liked by everyone for the greater good of ALL Oxnard.
  • Restore relations with our neighbors.
The City’s relationship with our Ventura County neighbors has suffered by an unwillingness to work together. Everything ends up coming back to relationships. Oxnard can only flourish when it enjoys an amicable relationship with the surrounding cities and County.

Why do you think you are qualified to do this?

  • I have four decades of successful management and executive experience; one decade in the restaurant business, and three decades as lead pastor of a large church.
I know how to listen, clarify an issue, then chart a path to a reasonable solution.

What relevant skills/experience do you have?

  • As per the above, four decades of successful management and executive experience. I’ve made an extensive study of what makes a leader great and have endeavored to install those traits in my own The continued growth of the church I serve with an outreach that reaches around the world would indicate that my leadership is producing fruit.

Have you held office or run before? Please explain what when, where.

  • This is my first campaign.

What are the most important issues and where do you stand on them?

(Oh, so many. Here are a few . . .)

  • INTEGRITY: Restoring trust in City Government
  • ACCOUNTABILITY: Conduct City affairs in the open by inviting public scrutiny
  • LEADERSHIP: Assess and prioritize needs, find practical solutions, then get to work
  • Public Safety and Infrastructure (i.e.: Utilities & Streets) are of premier importance.

Talk about fake- you’re using a phony identity and email address, “Holly”.

I’d move back to Oxnard just to vote for you! Congratulations on your bid. May God’s favor be upon you, and establish the work of your hands.

Congratulations on your bid to serve as a Oxnard City Council member, Pastor Lance. You have always been a very inspiring leader at Calvary Chapel and your platform is just what is needed. I wish you blessings in this effort. If I were still an Oxnard resident, I would sure vote for you.
